Lehigh Valley Paintless Dent Repair
Getting a dent in your vehicle is one of those events that you never wished or expected to happen. Your car or truck was somewhere in the Lehigh Valley looking great, maybe brand new, and now there’s a golf ball-sized divot on your hood or side panel. That was unexpected and the last thing you needed. We really feel your pain.
Maybe you got a little door ding from another car in the parking lot. Or a dime-sized dimple from a walnut when you parked underneath that tree. Perhaps that larger indentation is from a falling branch from that storm last night. Maybe you were in a little accident and some metal got misplaced. More commonly we are seeing Hail storms in the Lehigh Valley and eastern Pennsylvania. Maybe your car is littered like swiss cheese from that big hail storm. You may not even know where the dent came from! One day you just noticed it.
We live in a dangerous world where parking in the wrong spot or an act of nature can decrease the value of our property and ruin our day. Paintless Dent Repair is the most effective way of dent removal and the best way to restore pride and value in your car.
What is Paintless Dent Repair?
Paintless Dent Repair or PDR is the act of removing a dent and restoring your car’s or truck’s metal body to factory new condition without damaging the paint. Why do we go out of our way to tell you it won’t damage the paint or it doesn’t require painting? Because the alternative method of repairing your vehicle requires new paint. Your other option is to take it to a Body Shop. The differences between the two are staggering.
How Does Paintless Dent Repair Work?
PDR works by using metal rods behind the metal body panels of your car to push out indentations. While very small precision hammers are used to force the metal in without causing damage. This is the most technical part of PDR - the divot isn’t just concave. The outside ring around the concave area is pushed out. Hence, force must be applied to both sides to restore the car’s body to factory new condition.
How Does PDR Compare to a Body Shop?
What does this mean for you and your car?
PDR has a short turn around time. Most jobs don’t take more than 3 hours so you have your vehicle back the same day. A body shop can have your car for days or weeks on end.
PDR doesn’t damage the paint or require repainting. The body shop will fix the divot by drilling holes, pulling out the dent, filling the holes with Bondo, sanding the area down, prime it, and repaint it. This is a huge amount of effort. And very often paint doesn’t match the paint of the body so the repair is noticeable - this is because car paint looses its luster over time and new paint looks new.
An important thing to consider is that a PDR repair doesn’t get put on your vehicle’s history report, but a body shop repair will. This has the potential to make the car harder to sell down the road and difficult for leased vehicles.
Paintless Dent Repair costs.
Often times PDR is a lot cheaper than the Body Shop. It’s just an easier and faster process that doesn’t have all of the equipment, material, and overhead cost of a body shop. VMDR is a mobile dent removal service so our overhead is extremely low.
Mobile Dent Repair Service.
VMDR comes to wherever you and your car are in the Lehigh Valley - from Easton to Bethlehem to Allentown and beyond. You really don’t need to leave your house. A body shop simply can’t do this - they aren’t going to be painting your car in your driveway!
Does Paintless Dent Repair work on my vehicle?
Absolutely! There are a lot of different cars and trucks out there using all different types of metal. It doesn’t matter if you have an economy car with less expensive metal or a Tesla, Volvo, or expensive import with thicker steel, or you have a new truck with an aluminum bed,
We’ve helped every type of car and owner.
The nervous leased car owner who has to return their leased vehicle in a week.
The classic car owner who wants his classic car body to look the way it did 40+ years ago.
The new car owner who wants to restore the brand new look of their car.
The heavy duty truck owner who cares enough about his truck even though he known he may have another little accident in the future.
The sports car owner who can’t imagine driving a noticeable car with an equally noticeable dent.
Can you fix my specific dent?
There are many different types of dents out there and also a lot of different places on your vehicle that a dent can happen. Paintless Dent Repair can fix just about anything.
Door dings - These are the little parking lot dents. These are not a problem.
Dents - These are the divots you see from small and hard objects - falling walnuts, branches, or golf balls.
Pinches - This is when a dent happens is such a way that it creates a sharp point in the metal.
Crush - These are from accidents with other cars or objects when your car door is pushed in. These can be fixed too!
Smash - These are wide but shallow dents. You could make one by pushing hard on your car.
Creases - These dents look more like lines in the body. Ugly, but fixable.
The hardest thing to fix is when the metal is stretched from impact. We can get your car as perfect as we can, but some stretched metal can’t be un-stretched.
Vally Mobile Dent Repair looks forward to these challenges.
Some dent locations are difficult but not impossible.
Body lines - These are the lines you see in your body panel - often just under the windows and around wheel wells. They are creases that change the shape and look of your vehicle.
Bends - These are often around the trunk of your car or SUV. If you’ve ever seen a dent on the liftgate of an SUV it’s usually at this bend. The metal is thicker at these parts, but they aren’t a problem to repair.
Can I repair it myself? I see a lot of tools out there.
You absolutely can! But results vary. Just take notice that every video you see of the tool being used on the dent never-ever immediately shows the results. They cut-to a perfect repair. That’s because these tools leave two smaller dents where the tool was used.
